A test run for the tramline between Place de l'Etoile and the central railway station had to be abandoned early after a power supply problem.
Monday evening saw the tram take its first test run along the new 2.2km stretch of track that will be fully operational this December.
Starting at place de l’Etoile, where the tracks from Kirchberg currently terminate, a tram carrying city mayor Lydie Polfer and transport minister François Bausch travelled smoothly until it reached the avenue de la Liberté. A power supply problem halted its progress and it had to be towed along the final stretch of track to the station.
