Satisfaction levels with Luxembourg’s tram appear to be high despite the fact that only 44% of people polled have ridden it.
A survey commissioned by the infrastructure ministry and conducted by TNS Ilres with 1,029 people, found that 56% had not used the tram, which became operational in December 2017.
Despite such a low take-up, three-quarters said they were more likely to take public transport since its introduction and eight out of ten would recommend it.
Of those who had used the tram, more than nine out of ten were satisfied with its route, comfort levels, design and platform layout. They were less satisfied with its connections to the train at Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg Gare (57%) and with buses (64%).
The line is being opened in stages, with the first stretch in Kirchberg extended to the to Place de l’Etoile in July 2018. In the next stages, the line will be extend to Hamilius, Gare Central and Lycée Bonnevoie by 2020.
