According to the 4 February statement issued by the ministry of social security, the CNS has since taken all the internal and legal steps necessary following the discovery.

Although the press release could not reveal details, as the investigation is ongoing, according to L’Essentiel the amount could involve up to €2m. The daily adds that the agents had been operating for around 10 years by falsifying documents, mainly invoices coming from abroad.

Christian Oberlé, president of the CNS, called an extraordinary meeting on Monday afternoon to inform members of the facts, and Romain Schneider, minister of social security, will hold another meeting on 5 February to inform the parliamentary committee of labour, employment and social security.
