The British embassy in Luxembourg is reminding British citizens who are eligible to vote in the UK parliamentary elections on 12 December that they have only a few days left to register to vote.

Using social media, the embassy has been linking to the voter registration page of the UK government. This can be used by British citizens who left the UK within the last 15 years and were previously registered at an address in England, Scotland or Wales. In some cases, citizens who left the UK before their 18th birthday may also be eligible.

Meanwhile, the Luxembourg branch of Labour International has advised citizens to register a proxy vote, as “postal voting has been problematic.” It also reminds students who may be at British universities that they can be registered at home and at their university residence, but obviously can't vote twice. There is also a Luxembourg branch of Conservatives Abroad, and the LibDems also recently established a presence in the grand duchy.
