The footage from François Bausch shows the tram along the Kirchberg-Etoile section, night-time tests on which began on 21 May. On Monday 4 June, the minister is expected to announce the next stages and a date for the opening of this section of the tramway.

The first stretch, with eight stations along boulevard JF Kennedy, in Kirchberg, opened to great fanfare in December 2017. The new section of line crosses the red bridge, turns right at the Grand Théâtre, borders the Glacis car park along Allée Scheffer before reaching Place de l’Etoile.

By the time Luxembourg’s tram network is completed in 2021, some 1,975 out of 3,753 bus journeys per day will no longer pass through the capital.
