John Marshall, the outgoing British ambassador to the grand duchy, took the opportunity of the “10x6 Finance: Luxembourg post-Brexit” event organised by the Paperjam + Delano Club on Thursday 25 March to say thanks “For the warm welcome, the kindness and friendship, and to you and your families good health and every happiness.”
The ambassador, frequently referred to by his first name, is coming to the end of what he describes as "five fabulous years in Luxembourg", where he has overseen the complete journey as caused by the Brexit negotiations.
Referring to the future he said, “There are sensible and rational people on both sides. Common sense will prevail, but we must all understand the new realities.”
Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, provided the formal thanks and commented, “We hope you come back to Luxembourg often, you are certainly welcome.”
