In its 2017 annual report, published on Thursday 18 October, the association recorded 21 work-related deaths, down from 22 the year before.

The number of total accidents recorded also remained stable. Insurance outlay rose by 2.8%, the report said, meanwhile, the contributions received from employers rose by 7%.

“The rate of one-off contributions the year before of 1% of total salary costs remained unchanged and is at a historically low level,” president of the AAA board Claude Seywert wrote.
