According to a government statement issued on Monday, the agreement enables Luxembourgers and Tainwanese aged 18 to 30 to spend a year in both Taiwan and the grand duchy and to leave and re-enter several times with the same visa.

The arrangement was signed on 21 August and means that visa-holders can engage in paid work or continue their studies. They must, however, have enough financial resources to cover their daily living costs.

Each country can issue 40 working holiday visas per year to holders of Luxembourg or Taiwanese passports. Beyond the 12-month period, visa holders will not be granted permission to extend their stay.

More information will be published online before the end of the year at www.workandtravel.lu
