The excursion was underwritten by International Management Assistants in Luxembourg, a professional development and networking organisation.

The group’s Jane Barton told Delano in an email on 5 June:

“Last Saturday we took a group of children and their carers to visit the wonderful Science Centre at Differdange and we all had a great afternoon trying to get our heads round all the different scientific demonstrations on display. We also took part in two workshops, one about molecular cookery and then a second about electricity, which had us all pinned to our seats as the lightning started to crack out! The Science Centre has been specially conceived to encourage youngsters to become more interested in science, such a great idea and certainly our group was thrilled and had to be torn away at closing time. A huge thank you to our sponsors for making this trip possible, we all really appreciate their support.”

Yakary is located in Rumelange and run by the NGO Caritas. It serves as a temporary home for children aged 3 to 13, who’ve been placed there by the family court or their family.
