Cleansed is one of only five plays by British playwright Sarah Kane who died by suicide aged 28 after suffering from depression for many years.

The play premiered in 1998 and is set in what is described as a university but operates as “an institution designed to rid society of its undesirables” where “a group of inmates try to save themselves through love”, according to the script.

Danny Boland, Whitney Fortmueller and Jacqueline Milne star in the production directed by Max Jacoby.

The play is performed on 19, 20, 26 and 27 November. Doors open at 7.30pm and the performance starts at 8pm.

Tickets are available at the door and can be booked in advance at a “pay what you can” rate. More information is available on the Gudde Wëllen website.
