The Cinémathèque is hosting a season of  11 must-see films from the past two years that didn’t get a cinema release in the grand duchy.

Highlights of the mini-season include Korean drama The Woman Who Ran, the latest work by Sang-soo Hong, for which he won the Silver Bear at the 2020 Berlin film festival and Kelly Reichardt’s original western First Cow, which was on several lists of the best films of 2021.

Then there is Bassam Tariq’s Mogul Mowgli starring Riz Ahmed as a rapped whose faculties are failing and Autumn de Wilde’s adaptation of Austen’s Emma starring Anya Taylor-Joy.

The season concludes with Rose Glass’s award-winning satiricial psychodrama Saint Maude starring Morfydd Clark and Jennifer Ehle (most famous for her role in another Austen adaptation, Pride and Prejudice).
