Discover the art of Persian music with Kayhan Kalhor and Kiya Tabassian at the Philharmonie.

The setar, a four-stringed long-necked lute, takes centre stage at this concert. Kalhor is a founding member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble; Tabassian one of the co-founders of Ensemble Constantinople in Montréal.

In the spirit of a musical practice acknowledging neither geographical nor historical borders, the two Iranian performers invite their audience on a journey to their musical roots – between tradition and renewal.

Before the concert, Tabassian participates in an artist talk in English at 7.10pm, discussing his music-making.
