Two chances to see musical duo SZ perform a live soundtrack to a series of four short Japanese animated films.

The Cinémathèque always puts on a great programme for kids, and this Sunday is no exception. SZ, a duo comprised of musical brothers, will play accompaniment to a screening of four short films by one of the masters of Japanese animation, Tsuneo Goda.

The films star adventurous cat Komaneko, who one day decides to make her own film, a stop-motion movie featuring his best friends, two little knitted toys. The four short stories are packed with emotion and “tell us about cinema, stimulate the imagination, open the field of creation, of making-together...”

SZ--named after Stara Zagora--play contemporary music that blends influences of jazz and indie-pop and colourful electronica.

The films have no dialogue, so can be enjoyed by kids of all ages above 3 regardless of language skills.

Screenings last around 60 minutes and start at 3pm or 4.30pm. The Cinémathèque is a beautiful space with large comfortable seats. .
