The Chats The Chats

Australian trio The Chats bring their “shed rock” stylings to Bonnevoie for a show that promises to be pure energy.

The trio of Eamon Sandwith (bass and vocals), Matt Boggis (drums) and Josh Hardy (guitar) has been around since 2016 when Sandwith and Boggis were at school with original guitarist Josh Price. They quckily named their musical style “shed rock”.

Named after Australian slang “that’s chat” for something that is disgusting or bad, the band’s two early EPs were followed by full length debut album High Risk Behaviour, which was voted best independent punk album or EP at the 2021 AIR awards.

Like much of the band’s output, the tracks on the album are about Australian youth culture and, as Ali Shutler of NME out it, the  “perfect soundtrack to being bored, broke and optimistic”. Follow-up album Get Fucked, is due out in August and features new single 6LTR GTR.
