A street party with Boy George & Culture Club headlining is one of the highlights of a week-long celebration of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Local LGBTIQ+ rights group Rosa Lëtzebuerg has put together an impressive programme for this year’s Luxembourg Pride Week, which is part of the Esch2022 European Capital of Culture programme.

Combining art and culture as well as tackling the socio-political topics that Rosa Lëtzebuerg holds dear, Pride is a unique platform for the LGBTIQ+ community.

The week is supported by Esch2022, the City of Esch and frEsch asbl.

This year’s Pride Headquarters is located in Bâtiment4 in Esch-sur-Alzette, just 500  meters away from the city’s town hall. Open daily, the headquarters serves as an information centre and will also host events and an exhibition titled LGBTIQ+ History in Luxembourg.

The headquarters is also the site of this year’s Luxembourg Queer Arts Festival from 1 to 3 July.

Rosa Lëtzebuerg together with the Representation of the European Commission in Luxembourg and Uni.lu will present a series of conferences on LGBTIQ+ activism in Europe on 7 July.

The celebrations culminate in the street party over the final weekend of Pride Week, with local artists CHAiLD and Edsun performing on the main stage before headliner Boy George & Culture Club provide the climax to the Saturday night.

On Sunday July 10, Daniel Schuhmacher will perform as will Eurovision Song Contest participants Jendrik and two-time Song Contest veteran Poli Genova and French drag queen Leona Winter.
