Over the weekend of 1 and 2 October, Natur&Ëmwelt is hosting events to mark Euro Birdwatch Day in Remerschen and Munsbach.

In autumn, many migratory bird species leave their breeding grounds to winter in the south. Identifying migratory birds is not an easy task, but with the help of expert ornithologists, watchers can learn a lot about the fascinating world of birds.

They will be on hand at the at Biodiversum Camille Gira in Remerschen on Saturday, 1 October. The event includes a photo tour (bring your own camera) with nature photographer Roland Felten starting at 8am. A bird tour through the Haff Réimech area is set to start at 8.30am. Workshops and events for families begin at around 10am.

Other activities include bird ringing, a small art market, a photo exhibition as well as specialist literature and nature conservation products. Food and drink will be available.

All tours require registration at Biodiversum on tel. 2475 6531 or by e-mail: [email protected].

On Sunday, 2 October natur&ëmwelt’s nature and bird protection association Ieweschte Syrdall/Regionalsektion and the Schlammwiss ringing station are offering a guided hike through the nature reserve.

The meeting point is at 9 am in Munsbach at the football field, where you will be able to see the birds that live here. The tour will last around 2 hours. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are recommended. Registration is required by phone/SMS to 621 293 695 or via email: [email protected].
