Zenzile - The reimagination of Miriam Makeba

Ugandan-Rwandan singer Somi pays homage to South African icon Miriam Makeba and her music in this concert at the Philharmonie.

Makeba’s music and political activism saw her exiled from South Africa during apartheid but her songs and powerful voice long outlived the regime. 

Somi will pay tribute to Makeba, or “Mama Africa” as she became knowns, with a contemporary voice on the edge between jazz and traditional music.
