And then there was 1: the only restaurant with 2 Michelin stars

Ma Langue Sourit has retained its second Michelin star while judges stripped Mosconi of its second star in this year’s fine-dining bible.

The news was announced at a ceremony to launch the publication of the 2020 Michelin Guide to Belgium and Luxembourg on Monday.

Cyril Molard, whose inventive French cuisine has lived up to the venue’s name, consistently bringing smiles to diners at his Moutfort restaurant, was reportedly sad for the Mosconi family. He was cited by Paperjam as saying that “this edition doesn’t really represent the current Luxembourg gastronomic scene. We expected more, even for Belgium. We’ve been waiting for a while in Luxembourg and it has taken a while to come. But, I am happy for the young ones who shone out.”

The recognition comes after Molard was crowned Gault&Millau's chef of the year in October.

Restaurants retaining their single Michelin stars were La Distillerie in Bourglinster, Les Jardins d’Anaïs (which gained its first star in the 2019 edition), Guillou Campagne in Schouweiler, Fani in Roeser, and Léa Linster in Frisange.
