By the latest count, 115 people are in hospital (down from 121 reported 2 May), of whom 22 are in intensive care (compared to 23). A total of 850 patients who tested positive for covid-19 have been discharged from hospital (up from 845). Since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, a total of 48,118 tests have been carried out (up from 47,460).
None of these figures include patients transferred to Luxembourg from French hospitals.

Starting Monday 4 May the advanced medical centres in Luxembourg, Esch, Ettelbruck and Grevenmacher will only be open from 10am to 6pm. They will also not accept any non-covid patients. Patients who need medical advice will be able to consult their general practitioner as of Monday, health minister Paulette Lenert said in a tweet.

France is to extend its state of health emergency for two months until 24 July, French health minister Olivier Véran said on Saturday. A bill to be presented to parliament on Monday, sets out a two-week quarantine period for all people coming to France from abroad.
The Luxembourg government announced on Saturday that from the week commencing 4 May, journalists will be able to physically attend press conferences provided they respect a distance of two metres. Press conferences will be held in the conference room of the European Convention Centre to allow sufficient space.

The Chamber of Commerce has shuttered the Jobswitch platform. The site matched up temporarily unemployed and underemployed people with companies that had an immediate need for staff, particularly in the food and transport sectors. The platform received 1,460 applications and was able to match 537 people with firms, the chamber said on 30 April. With deconfinement measures under way, the chamber decided to shut down the service.

Speaking to the French parliament, France’s prime minister, Edouard Philippe, proposed that schools and shops could reopen on 11 May, but not bars and restaurants. High school students and people on public transport would be required to wear face masks. Public gatherings would still be restricted. France’s National Assembly has to approve the plan.
