Baillie was also chair of the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Steering Committee. She co-founded and also served as chair of the Luxembourg Nation Branding Committee, an inter-ministerial and inter-institutional group created by the government in 2014 to develop and promote the country’s image in the world.
She is also a member of the board of directors of IMS Luxembourg
In her role, Baillie was in charge of the work that led to the creation, in 2015, of LuxGovSat, a joint venture between the Luxembourg government and SES for the acquisition, launch and operation of satellite(s) and the management of related ground activities, with a view to providing government and military communication services, including for Nato and the EU.
Since May 2021, she has been a member of the board of directors of IMS Luxembourg, the national branch of CSR Europe, the European leader in corporate social responsibility. The objective of this organisation is to explore new solutions and concretely test sustainable alternatives, but also to facilitate, through its projects, innovative initiatives, by mobilising all actors, whether private, public or associative.
Baillie’s personality is defined by an exemplary professional career, a constant and unbroken fascination for innovation, commitment, energy, determination and passion. A true positive leader, she knows how to convince her interlocutors of the interest of innovative projects and to federate her teams around them. Driven by a sense of public service, the promotion of Luxembourg in the world is her passion.
Although she has had an impressive and remarkable career, Baillie also teaches us modesty and humanity. She often deserves the spotlight, but she never hesitates to put her collaborators and her teams in the spotlight, well aware that, alone, we may sometimes go faster, but that it is only together that we can go far. It is a message that it does not hesitate to take beyond the borders, as during a keynote at the Research in Germany forum in Berlin in September 2022. Research in Germany is a forum for communication and collaboration in the field of research, bringing together all the technology and research institutes and universities in Germany. The latter, having taken note of the Luxinnovation strategy published at the beginning of 2022, which duly integrates the concept of ‘values’ and the notion of human-centrism, invited Sasha Baillie to present it. Another nice recognition.
However, Sasha Baillie is not afraid to step out of her comfort zone to move forward, with a constant desire to discover new horizons. She sets an example, showing that you don’t have to be afraid to achieve your goals, that you can’t always please everyone and that you have to dare to take decisions and make choices.
Following her ranking in the 2020 Top 100, she admitted in an interview with Paperjam that she hopes to be an inspiration to the next generation of young women in business, industry and the tech world. She already is, and for all of us.
